Every now and then, during our lives, opportunities present themselves. Some of them are so rare that they will probably come by just once in our lifetime. Still, sometimes we fail to see opportunities and even less seize them, even when they are right in front of us. Other times, we clearly see them – they are tempting, and we feel they could change the path of our life, but we choose not to take them. Or we grab every opportunity that comes our way without feeling satisfied, because we forgot why we said yes.
How come some people seem to be able to take a great opportunity when it comes, while others never do? How do some know what is the right thing to do, while others always hesitate until it’s too late? If it is about being at the right place at the right time, and seize the right opportunities, how can I improve my chances?
It is definitely possible to change one’s response to opportunities in life. It’s not a quick fix, but with some training and determination you can experience a huge difference in a relatively short period of time.
Seizing opportunities involves decision making. Of course. Being afraid of failing is one of the most common reasons for not reaching our full potential. A certain amount of courage is needed to take a decision with uncertainties involved. Real courage comes from within. Curiosity is also of great help. That which you are really interested in, and curious about, will amazingly often open up opportunities.
To be ready for the right opportunity requires being free from distractions and the influence of others and saying yes or no for the right reasons at the right time.
